When is the last time you sat in silence, not with a book in your hand, but completely still with nothing but yourself, your thoughts, your breathing?
This stillness, not only through meditation but simple stillness can give you tremendous peace. It emphasizes your being present in your now, where you have nowhere to hide, nothing to hide behind. It is the opportunity to listen deeply within you as well as the opportunity to listen with-out.
Constant bombardment with information and the misinterpretation of lack of time to just be - even if only for a moment - has brought us to avoid stillness.
If we do embrace "free time", we tend to drowned it through television or other media to escape.
But finding yourself again, reconnecting with our essence - our thoughts - it an opportunity you should seriously consider.
Make the practice of stillness part of your routine today!
